Living
Outdoors Ltd began as Edging Enterprises Ltd back in 1984
to manufacture and supply the local Garden Centre scene
with wired garden edging in a continuous roll form, made
by a unique semi-automatic machine.
The demand for the edging soon out grew the humble beginnings
in a garage and the business moved to its current premises
at 19 Vernon Street, Papakura. As the business grew they
took over more space in the complex and with the extra
space the product lines grew, firstly into trellis then
archways, gazebos, spa chalets, fence panels, gates and
now cedar garden sheds. Along with this growth came staff,
which has grown into a small team of four.
As the range of products grew the name Edging Enterprises
Ltd no longer reflected the current direction of the business
and hence the change
of name in January 2002 to Living Outdoors Ltd.
Gazebos, Spa Chalets and Cedar Sheds have now become a
strong focus of the business and Allan’s engineering
background is evident when you examine Living Outdoors’
well constructed, strong, yet very elegant gazebos.
